  • January- May 2021

    • School Library Intern​ at Summitt Elementary School

    • Checking books in and out of the system, filling book orders for students, and processing new books and discarding old books

    • Planning and building a new collection of books for a transitioning readers’ section

    • Gaining experience in program planning such as author visits

  • June 2019- March 2020​

    • Senior Student Supervisor at the Perry-Castaneda Library

    • Reviewed Employees’ shelving, ready to shelve carts (RTSs), and provided them with assignments

    • Distributed, shelved, shifted sections, and picked up books on floor

    • Evaluated employees speed and accuracy regarding assignments and overall job performance

  • August 2018-May 2019

    • Elementary Student Teacher ​at Mills Elementary School

    • Designed and implemented differentiated lesson plans for classroom of 22 students

    • Sparked student engagement and curiosity through hands-on experiments and learning

Projects

  • Building a collection for early transitioning readers in a school library

    • I worked to build a collection for young readers who are transitioning out of the early readers books but have not yet reached chapter books. I worked with the librarian at Summitt Elementary School to apply for a grant which funded the book order and storage materials for the books. Through the use of Follett I was able to compile a list of book series that met our goal of diversity, inclusivity, and of course, exciting. ​

  • Working with high school students to recommend research strategies and improvements for social interaction in VR

  • Assisted in applying for a grant sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)

    • I worked to apply for a grant that would improve storage conditions for a special collection
